Jenny is a friend. We were on the way to Stillwater, Oklahoma, by car one Saturday. I was struck by her beauty and the beauty of the landscape, and when I got to the studio to paint her portrait from my memory of that bright afternoon I wanted to include the different colors of the winter fields along with her quality of stillness that seems wonderful and mysterious to me.
